What We’ve Been Up To - 05/22

What a busy month it’s been here at Backstage! This year is proving how much we love (and have missed) live events and travelling on behalf of our clients. There is truly nothing quite like that in-person event feeling or the sunny California heat on our faces!

Have we made you curious to learn what Backstage has been up to May 2022? Then keep reading to find out!

THE EVENT MPI CHAPTER

Backstage was thrilled to attend The Event’s first in-person conference since 2019! The energy in the Pan Pacific Hotel was a refreshing reminder of what this wonderful industry can bring to events in our community and beyond. There was so much to see and do with many highlights we were left with. There were three that stood out the most.

HIGHLIGHT #1

We started with the best highlight of all: getting to see our industry peers in-person again. From fellow planners, hotel representatives, tourism groups, and speakers who made this return to live events a spectacular one. It was a pleasure to reconnect with everyone!

HIGHLIGHT #2

Every speaker brought their own thoughtful ideas to The Event. Most of all, we enjoyed listening to keynote speakers Pamela Barnum and Samra Zafar present. Their words have provided us with much to reflect on as we go into the summer months.

HIGHLIGHT #3

One of the panels we had the delight to sit in on, focused on the topic of food & beverage and hotel contracts and venue contracts going forward. We appreciated learning about the forecasted trends of this industry and how we can expect it to affect our events in the future. These are the kinds of informative panels we love to be part of to ensure our clients are up-to-date on the adjacent industries relevant to them.

California Site Inspections

Backstage also had the pleasure of flying down to sunny Southern California to attend site inspections on behalf of a client. We had a delightful experience touring around hotels in Santa Monica and Beverly Hills before checking out local wineries with event space perfect for intimate retreats and incentives.

When a client asks us to travel to see potential sites, we do a small dance of excitement! Not only do we love creating and managing events in our own backyard, we love to bring them to life in new destinations that allow for an inspiring and fun challenge. There’s nothing better than that beautiful weather and those California views either! We thank all the vendors we had the chance to meet and who hosted us during our stay. It was an excellent experience and we will be back!
